Seasonal Seva: What Should Laddu Gopal Wear in Summer and Winter?
We serve Thakurji as we would serve a beloved child — and that includes keeping Him comfortable as the seasons change. A small wardrobe of seasonal poshaks makes daily seva easier and more joyful.
Summer: light, breathable, bright
- Pure cotton and mulmul let air move freely.
- Light colours — ivory, mint, lotus pink and sky blue — feel cool.
- Keep zari and stone work minimal for daily summer wear.
- Chandan seva and flower shringar pair beautifully with white and pastel poshak.
Winter: soft warmth
- Velvet or fleece-lined poshaks keep Thakurji cosy on cold mornings.
- Add a little woolen cap and shawl during the coldest weeks.
- Deep colours — rani pink, maroon and peacock teal — feel warm and festive.
Caring for seasonal poshak
Hand-wash cotton poshaks gently in cool water and dry them in shade. Velvet and embellished pieces should be spot-cleaned only. Store off-season poshaks folded in a cloth bag with a few neem leaves or a sachet of cloves to keep insects away.
