How to Measure Your Laddu Gopal for the Perfect Poshak

Nothing is sweeter than dressing Thakurji in a poshak that sits just right — not tugging at the arms, not swallowing His little form. The good news: finding His size takes one measurement and about a minute.

Step 1: Measure the sitting height

Laddu Gopal sits in the crawling posture, so poshak sizes are based on His sitting height. Place Him on a flat surface and measure straight up from the base to the top of His head (without the mukut). Use a soft tape or a ruler held upright.

Step 2: Match it to the size chart

  • Size 0 — about 2 to 2.5 inches
  • Size 1 — about 2.5 to 3 inches
  • Size 2 — about 3 to 3.5 inches
  • Size 3 — about 3.5 to 4.5 inches
  • Size 4 — about 4.5 to 5.5 inches
  • Size 5 — about 5.5 to 6.5 inches
  • Size 6 — about 6.5 to 7.5 inches

Sizes vary a little between makers, so treat these as a guide. If Thakurji is right on the line between two sizes, choose the larger one — a poshak that is slightly roomy drapes gracefully, while a tight one is hard to dress during daily seva.

Step 3: Check the base and the mukut

If your Laddu Gopal sits on a fixed base, measure from where His body begins. For pagdi and mukut, the head circumference matters more than height — our sets are matched to each size, but tell us if your Thakurji has a fuller face or a larger crown.
